Our group (formed 2019) meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday afternoons, following the morning session of the Spinners, Weavers and Knitters group. Many of us bring our lunch and stay for the afternoon, practising a range of fibre crafting skills, on looms, spinning wheels or spindles, tapestry looms, and so on.
We’ve agreed to emphasise the artistic aspect of our work with a slight change of name. Everyone who comes along is an experienced crafter; in this group we produce works of art, learning from each other and increasing our creative, design and presentation skills.
Any member of Kāpiti Arts and Crafts Society is welcome. Some—but not all—members of the Spinners, Weavers and Knitters also belong to Creative Fibre, and the afternoon group is convened by Helen, the Creative Fibre Wellington Area delegate.
